- The Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Holy Word of God, in the original manuscripts. (By expertise of collaborating scholarship God has also enabled honest translations into many modern languages that keep integrity with the earliest sources.)
- There is only one true God, eternally existent and revealed in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who are inseparable in nature and attributes but distinguishable in manifest revelation. (Referred to as the orthodox and historic doctrine of the ‘Trinity’)
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth; (when God the Son was incarnated, took on human flesh and form to be fully God still, yet fully human but without any sinful nature), His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious (In the place of another, and in particular to fulfil the just indignation and wrath for offending the holiness of God) and atoning death, (His death was voluntary, and provided a redemptive payment that enables reconciliation between God and man) bodily resurrection, (the same physical body that experienced death by crucifixion was raised again to be living again while rejoined and indwelled by the same soul and Spirit) His ascension, and His personal imminent appearing to gather His saints and ultimately to return to earth in glory and manifest His everlasting kingdom.
- The only means of being cleansed from sin is through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ and that regeneration (being quickened from spiritual death to eternal life as a brand new spiritual creation) by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. (Jesus taught that unless someone was individually ‘born again’ they could not see the kingdom of heaven.)
- In the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
- The commandments of God are fulfilled when we love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbours as ourselves, which only the grace and love of God enables.
- Just as the apostles received the enabling power of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, so we too are called upon to receive this baptism, which the Heavenly Father gives to all who ask. We believe that in receiving the Holy Spirit baptism, all believers receive gifts which are for the edification and strengthening of the body. These gifts are manifested under the direction of the Holy Spirit. We believe that all of these gifts are available today.
- There is a resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life in heaven with Christ and the other to eternal separation from God, and ultimately hell.
- We believe in the gathering of the Lord’s people, the church to be further united together with Christ at any moment. (an event referred to as the ‘rapture of the church’)
- We believe that God has an agenda for the culmination of history that will include the visible and glorious unveiling of Christ in both glory and power and that He shall personally return at His second coming to Jerusalem. (an event that is known as ‘The Second Advent’, or ‘Second-Coming”)
- That the prime agency for the work of God’s Kingdom is the local church functioning under the sovereignty of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- We believe in water baptism (for believers to confess Christ as their Lord and Saviour as a public testimony), and observance of the Lord’s Supper (to commemorate with gratitude and remember the Lord’s death with hallowed awe and wonder the significance that His shed blood has for His elect, and will continue to do so until He fulfils the promise of His return for us).
- Christ shall reign as King of kings and Lord of lords, and shall establish the Kingdom of God in a new heaven and a new earth wherein He shall reign on the throne of his servant David forever and ever.
